I was really impressed in their care in informing me. We were presented options, it wasn’t a one-size fits all operation, it was here’s your options this is what you can do. In terms of the rate of return I felt it was more of a secure investment than dealing with the stock market because I also do invest with stocks and it’s so volatile. Just based on where we are in the economy I don’t think that real estate is going to take a deep dive in the negative direction.
The service has been exceptional and working with them even throughout the day, again I’m a teacher, all this was going on and they were able to easily work on my schedule which is choppy. A few minutes here, a few minutes there and I was really able to reach out to everyone I needed to either via email or via phone.
It has been very passive, and sometimes I forget I even have the investments until Josh will call me once a month and say, “Hey how are you doing, wanting to see if you have any questions”. Then I remember, oh yes I have all these properties.
It was a turnkey operation, a hands off turnkey operation. That’s what I’m looking for, I’m very busy, I’m actually in the real estate business myself. So I wasn’t looking for something I had to nurture or oversee. I wanted something that I could trust these people and just let go on cruise control.
It couldn’t be easier as far as being a property owner. It’s as hands-off as you’d like it to be. Everything is taken care of, it’s a very nice way to become invested in real estate in a passive manner. It’s as easy as owning a stock, a bond, or an IRA. It’s completely hands-off because I’m very time-constrained working full time.
There’s a couple of other guys out there that say they can do it but by the time you do your application fee, pay their fees, pay points, jump through their hoops, meet their loan to value requirements, have a reserve, they can’t get a deal done hardly. So when I found GEG and that they have non-recourse financing arranged, that made things a lot easier and go a lot quicker.
